Bio

Training, licensure, experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Level II Trained EMDR practitioner. I received my BS in Applied Social Sciences in 1992 from Binghamton University and my MS in Counseling from the University of Vermont in 1998. I have worked in schools, agencies, and in private practice.

I have assisted people from ages 10 to 70s from backgrounds of all types. My work history has given me the chance to work with adults, teens, and children in crisis and with those who want to reach peak modes of functioning. I have worked with people struggling with the effects of trauma, addictions of all kinds, post traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, problems with violence, medical problems, grief/loss, and chronic pain. I have assisted people who are seeking to further develop a spiritual practice, increase their creativity, and improve their performance. I have enjoyed helping couples and training parents to be more effective. Providing clinical supervision to other therapists has also been a joy.
